Iran: Workers lay off continues

NCRI – Hamedan’s handmade carpet factory closed down due to liquidity and inability to provide raw material and all its workers were laid-off.

The head of the labor council informed of the factory closure and unemployment of 25 official workers.
The expelled workers have also not received three months of their payment and yearly services. The workers have been working full time and officially for 12 to 20 years in Hamedan’s carpet factory and now they are all of a sudden laid-off.

More than 150 workers of ‘Samand Tile’ factory are also delayed in receiving their payment and insurance for 6 months. These workers have been working from the beginning of the year without any payment.

This factory is currently working half-time. This is while it had a very high capacity in selling its product compared to its competitors and exported a large sum of its production.

In addition to the 6 months nonpayment of salary and insurance, these workers have not received their two year New Year benefit and bonus.

In the meanwhile, 30 workers of deep water company in the city of Bushehr have been laid-off after their contract became due.
