NCRI – Marian Harkin MEP from Group of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe has welcomed the adoption resolution condemning the September 1 massacre of Iranian dissidents in Camp Ashraf, Iraq.
“One the core message in that resolution is in regards to 52 people who were brutally killed in Camp Ashraf and the seven people who were abducted including six women,” said the Irish politician about the resolution that was adopted on Thursday.
In a video message Mrs Harkin urged the immediate release of the hostages that are being held in Baghdad.
On September 1, the Iraqi forces under command of Nouri al-Maliki attacked Camp Ashraf and killed 52 members of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK).
Since that day, a worldwide hunger strike is being held by Iranian dissidents including hundreds of residents of Camp Liberty as a part of an international campaign urging the U.S. Government and the United Nations to act to free seven Camp Ashraf residents taken hostage by Iraqi forces under the command of Nouri Al-Maliki.
