Inflation soars by 40 per cent in Iranian regime

NCRI – Inflation in Iran has soared to more than 40 per cent as the regime’s economic crisis deepens, the finance minister has admitted.

And the price of some basic foodstuffs has increased by up to 90 cent as Iran plunders the nation’s wealth on its nuclear weapons program and funding terrorism across the region.

Despite a promise by new president Hassan Rouhani that he would solve Iran’s immediate problems within his first 100 days in office, finance minister Ali Tayebnia described hopes of an economic revival as an ‘illusion’.

He told the IRGC affiliated Tasnim news agency on October 5: “Average inflation in Iran has reached 40 percent.”

Amongst the highest price rises in the year since September 2012 are footwear and clothing which has gone up by 60 per cent, grain which has gone up by 83 per cent, fresh fruit by 74 per cent, vegetable oils by 53 per cent and vegetables by 90 per cent.
