Iran: Javad Zarif rushes to whitewash regime’s crimes in Syria

NCRI – The Iranian regime that is running Syria has rushed to whitewash its crimes in Syria.

The Iranian regime’s Foreign Minister claimed that ” the Syrian government in the process of driving the terrorists back, why would it commit such an act.”

“If the information concerning the use of chemical weapons is accurate, very definitely they were used by terrorist groups… who have shown they will not hold back from committing any crime,” Mohammad Javad Zarif was quoted as saying by state-run IRNA news agency.

Syria’s main opposition group, the National Coalition, accused the government of “massacring” more than 1,300 people in chemical weapons attacks on Wednesday.
Opposition leader Ahmad Jarba said in an interview published on Sunday: Syria is now being run by regime allies Iran and Lebanon’s Hezbollah, with President Bashar al-Assad out of the picture.

Assad is “a killer and a criminal, and… he has collapsed,” the National Coalition chief said.

Previously, Mehdi Ta’eb, a close associate of Ali Khamenei, had said on 14 February 2013: “Syria is Iran’s thirty-fifth province.”

Hassan Rouhani, the mullahs’ new president, described the Syrian government as the legitimate representative of Syrian people.

In his meeting with the Syrian Prime Minister on August 4 he said: “No power in the world can harm our relations with the Syrian government.”

A day prior to the barbaric massacre, head of Iranian regime’s Friday prayers Reza Taghavi said: “Today, it is [Khamenei] who leads southern Lebanon, has made proud Gaza with his leadership, and has made Syria resistant in confronting Takfiris… people of Egypt have no Velay-e faqih and leader and hence these massacres are happening in their country.”
