Iran: More production units are being closed down

NCRI – In the city of Takestan 40 percent of production units are in active while in Orumieh 70 per cent of the production and industrial units are facing crisis, the reports indicate.

A labor official told the state-run ILNA news agency that currently only 60 per cent of the production-industrial units in the city of Takestan are active and the rest are closed or half way closed.

A labor official blamed this condition on the increased financial problems, mismanagement, structure change and non-selling of the products, adding: “many of these units, including Alborz Steel Factory have been shut down for many years and the officials have not taken any measures to prevent repetition of such situation.”

“Even though the continuation of this situation has caused problems for owners and workers of these factories; however, the officials pay no attention to the critical units.”

As a result of this situation, the workers are facing lack of insurance problems as well. The Napkin Factory of Khoramdasht, which is newly established, is not obeying the insurance and contract rule of the workers.

Meanehile, more than 70 per cent of the production and industrial units in the city of Orumieh are facing crisis.

Another official in West Azerbaijan Province reported of a widespread closure of industrial and production units.

He told the state-run ILNA news agency that the industrial-production units in this town are completely or half time closed.

This official also acknowledged the reason to this condition as increased financial problems, mismanagement, structure change and non-selling of the products.

“Among the total unemployment labors of this province, only 10 percent of them have been introduced to the unemployment insurance department.”
