NCRI – An Iraqi MP for the Kurdish Coalition has called on the United Nations to take urgent action to protect Iranian dissidents in Camp Liberty from more deadly missile attacks.
Jasem Mohammad Shenkali also demanded that the UN resolve the mounting humanitarian crisis in the camp.
He said in remarks to the Nina news agency: “The issue of Camp Liberty refugees has become an international issue and the UN must take humanitarian action regarding the repeated missile attacks on the residents.
“As long as they are political refugees, the UN must also take an international action for their welfare and security.”
He also expressed his astonishment at the ban on the media and politicians from entering the camp, adding: “I don’t know why this camp is closed off to the media and parliamentarians.”
