Iran: Factional feuding continues

NCRI – Ali Khamenei’s close ally and member of the Guardian Council, Ahmad Khatami, warned the new Iranian regime president, Hassan Rohani: “Opposing the seditionists is an obligatory issue.” He added: “They betrayed the Supreme Leader during the 2009 sedition.”

State-run Mehr news agency quoted him as saying: “As long as the new government, institutions and parties obey the Supreme Leader and do not form the least difference, they are verified by the Leader.”

Khamenei’s mouth piece also wrote in its editorial on the same day that “To choose members of the cabinet depends on the analysis towards the country’s situation regarding internal and foreign policies. Therefore, it is very necessary to establish a hardworking government with politicians that have jihad-like spirits as the front line of the resistance. This national and revolutionary government exactly stands against a ‘share holders government’ and a ‘coalition government’.”

Keyhan newspaper also wrote on Thursday, July 4: “The eleventh government must caulk infiltration and taking advantage by the opportunists striving for power.”

In the meanwhile, state-run A news agency quoted cleric Mahi-alddine Haeri Shirazi commenting against Keyhan newspaper and wrote: “Trying to eliminate a political faction by scandal and unproven speeches in the field of competition is as bad as supporting the seditionists in 2009. Promoting enmity among them and turning a political rivalry field into a war, dispute and insulting scene is also sedition.”

He said: “The government must be formed in a healthy atmosphere and away from political misbehaviors and harmful rivalry. We hope that Rohani forms its cabinet from suitable and expert forces.”
