Iraq blocks entry of oxygen containers for Camp Liberty’s asthma patients

NCRI – Continuing their imposition of inhumane restrictions against Liberty residents, forces under the command of the Iraqi Prime Ministry have been preventing the entry of oxygen containers – purchased by the residents at their own cost – for acute asthma patients. This is while asthma patients across the world must have access to supplies such as oxygen containers.

The dirt and dusty conditions in Liberty have increased asthma symptoms, leaving those Liberty residents facing serious breathing disorders. This problem has especially elevated during the summer season. The oxygen containers these patients brought with them from Liberty are now empty and the patients’ requests from the Iraqi clinic in Liberty to refill the containers have been left unanswered.

Fourteen Ashraf and Liberty residents have lost their lives during the ongoing 4 ½ year-long inhumane siege due to the restrictions imposed by the Iraqi government on open access to medical services.
