Iran: More harsh restrictions on women to be enforced next month

NCRI – Iranian regime has announced a fresh clampdown on freedoms with a round of ‘moral and social security plans’ that will further restrict and oppress the population particularly women.

Among the draconian edicts expected to be re-enforced are police checks on women’s clothing and even their shopping, to screen them for ‘immodest purchases’.

The regime’s State Security Forces chief Ahmadi Moqqadam told the Mehr news agency on Tuesday: “A new round of Moral and Social Security Plans by the police will begin next month.

“These plans are not associated with election issues but will be executed during the election days.

“Their approach will be social and cultural and we are working ensure people do not hate us, but pay attention to us. For this reason, social and cultural measures have been included in this year’s plan.”

Moqqadam also announced the launch of new police municipality police, from next month.

This is the latest in a batch of new police units aimed and keeping tighter control on the public ahead of the June presidential elections, when the regime fears severe public unrest.
