Iranian regime denies political prisoner urgent hospital treatment for cancer

NCRI – A political prisoner suffering from cancer has been refused medical treatment in hospital by regime officials in the city of Tabriz, north west Iran.

Mohammed Jarahi – who is serving five years for ‘anti-regime’ activities – needs urgent treatment for a highly aggressive thyroid cancer.

His family have made repeated requests to the court, prosecutor’s office and the prison to transfer Mr Jarahi to hospital – but all have so far been ignored.

Mr Jarahi was arrested along with other student activists in 2012 in Tabriz, and is currently serving the second year of a five-year prison sentence.
