Senior Iranian cleric: Mismanagement is cause of high prices not sanction

NCRI – One of the most senior cleric of the Iranian regime and a close ally of Supreme Leader said on Friday that high prices in the country are “back breaking,” but dismissed claims considering international sanction as its main cause.

Ahmad Jannati, the Chairman of Guardian Council was speaking at so-called Friday Prayers in Tehran, the weekly gathering in which the views of Ali Khamenei on important issues of the regime are addressed.

Responding to a question on the cause of high prices, he said: “ One of the causes are the sanctions but some people want to blame it all on the sanction this is while the experts reject that claim. mismanagement, wrong policies, etc has created such situation.”

Jannati said that under such circumstances we are building anti-radar systems which empower the regime, IRNA state-run news agency reported.

Analysts on Iran believe that the Iranian regime spends as much as %40 of its budget for its military machinery, its intelligence and security apparatus, its nuclear weapons program and for exporting terrorism to countries in the region.

These policies have been the cause of inflation well over %50 and an unemployment rate that is increased to %30.

Jannati addressed the Iranian people who are protesting the economic crises and said:”We must tolerate the difficulties, if we do not tolerate it what should we do? Make lot of noise? Revolt? Undermine the system? This is not right.”

Jannati expressed his satisfaction with the latest discussion with 5+1 countries in Almaty by saying that “they stepped back a little.” “What those ignorant have done, they should have done it from the first day,” he said.
