Iran: Khamenei’s crony warns Ahmadinejad he will be “crushed”

NCRI – A powerful ally of Iranian regime’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has warned Mahmoud Ahmadinejad he will be ‘crushed’ if he continues to stand against the Velayat-e faqih.

Mullah Mohammad Reza Toyserkani, Khamenei’s mouthpiece in Bassij paramilitary, made the thinly veiled threat in an address to the force on Monday, the regime’s Fars news agency reported.

His attack on the Iranian regime’s President came a day after Ahmadinejad had accused parliament speaker and Khamenei loyalist Ali Larijani and his family of corruption and abuse of power.

Toyserkani told the Bassij: “All the animosities are over the Velayat-e faqih, and the enemy wants to destroy the rule of Velayat-e faqih.

“We do have not have covenant of brotherhood with anyone, therefore we do not need to show courtesy to anyone.

“Therefore we will oppose anyone who opposes the Velayat-e faqih.

In a direct reference to Ahmadinejad, he added: “The enemies are trying to defeat the rule of the Velayat-e faqih.  Anyone in any position who betrays the system will be crushed.”

Velayat-e faqih – meaning Governance of the Jurist – is a book written by Khomeini in 1970 that promotes strict theocratic rule. It states that the regime should be run according to what he considers “sharia law,” and a modified form of its doctrine was incorporated into the regime’s constitution in 1979.
