Iraqi deputy prime minister Saleh al-Mutlaq submits resignation

NCRI – Saleh al-Mutlaq, Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister and a leader of al-Iraqiya coalition, submitted his resignation on Monday, an Iraqi member of parliament said.

Mr. Raad al-Dahlaki, member of Iraqi parliament stated in remarks to Iraqi news outlets on Monday: “The leaders of Al-Iraqiya held a meeting on Monday in the house of Mr. Ayad Allawi where they discussed the latest events particularly incident in Falluja. At the meeting Rafe Al-Issawi, the minister of finance and Ussama Al-Nojeifi, the speaker of parliament were present.”

“At the meeting Saleh Al-Mutlaq presented his resignation to al-Iraqiya leaders to protest the recent developments in Iraq and because the demands of protestors are not being met,” Dahlaki added.
