IRAN: Political prisoner suffers from medication poisoning

NCRI – Hamid (Mashallah) Ha’eri, whose son and brother are opposition activists at camps Ashraf and Liberty, has suffered from medication poisoning with serious cardiac complications.

In recent days, this political prisoner’s health conditions deteriorated when he was poisoned by wrong medicine. According to reports, he was transferred to Loghman Hospital and then to Tehran’s Taleghani Hospital.
Hamid Ha’eri was a political prisoner in the 1980’s and was arrested again in December of 2009 only because his relatives were at Ashraf.

In August of 2011, due to physical and psychological tortures, he suffered from a heart attack and was taken to a hospital.

Agents of the Ministry of Intelligence had arrested Arya and Negar Ha’eri, Hamid’s wife and daughter respectively, on April 1, 2011.

In May 2011, Amnesty International expressed concerns regarding these arrests.

Many members of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), the main Iranian oposition movement reside in Camp Ashraf and Camp Liberty in Iraq.
