US State Department: Baghdad-Tehran agreement will never include Camp Ashraf residents

NCRI – Following the criminal claims by the Iranian regime and al-Shemeri, the Iraq’s Justice Minister, subsequent to signing an agreement in Tehran last Sunday –which due to the strong international reactions forced al-Maliki to retreat from that position– the U.S. State department said: The agreement signed last Sunday by Baghdad government and Tehran’s regime regarding the exchange of wanted suspects will never include residents of Camp Ashraf associated with the Iranian People’s Mojahedin opposition movement.

Michael Lavalle, the official spokesman for the State Department’s Middle East and North Africa Bureau, in an exclusive interview with Radio Sava said:  Washington has received guarantees from the Iraqi government that the agreement on exchange of wanted suspects, signed by the Iraqi government and the Iranian regime, will never include residents of Camp Ashraf, members of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran.
