Bloodbath in Iraq’s camp Ashraf

FRANCE 24 –  26/04/2011  – This week, our Observers tell us about violent clashes between Iranian opposition activists and the Iraqi army.

Several thousand Iranian opposition activists, members of a group called the People’s Mujahedeen of Iran, have lived in a camp on Iraqi soil since 1986. The group was sheltered under Saddam Hussein’s rule, but the new Iraqi government, which has developed close ties with Tehran, now wants to get rid of these bothersome activists. Our Observer filmed violent clashes with Iraqi troops that happened in the camp on Friday, April 8. (Click here for film)
