NCRI – On April 22 , the al-Iraqya TV reported that Ad Melkert, head of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) reemphasized refraining from use of force against Camp Ashraf residents.
The Iraqi government-run TV also reported: Melkert expressed his concerns regarding the events at Camp Ashraf and called for finding a solution for this problem without using force.
Melkert said: As you know, the United Nations has the situation in Ashraf under observation and it is natural to be concerned about what recently occurred there, and we ask all sides to try to find a solution for this problem and we also ask all sides to refrain from using force and we hope to be able to help the Iraqi government so that together we can find a solution for this problem through cooperation with the international community.
