NCRI – The Iraqiya list in Iraq has strongly condemned the brutal attacks by Nouri al-Maliki’s forces against the defenceless residents of Camp Ashraf, describing the measure as an example of genocide and crimes against humanity.
In its statement, the Iraqi political bloc said, “Iraqiya calls on the government to cease such bizarre acts, which run counter to the spirit of the Iraqi nation.”
It also urged “the United Nations, the UN Security Council and international organizations to immediately intervene to protect the residents of the camp and aim at resolve any challenges based on human rights principles.”
The political bloc also apologized to the world on behalf of the Iraqi people for such measures and said they have nothing to do with the decent and dignified Iraqi nation, which respects its guests and all human life.
Iraqiya said as long as the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), whose members reside in Ashraf, are staying in the country, it will respect them as Iraq’s guests.
