Eight more Iranian regime spy cells unveiled in Kuwait

NCRI – One of the recently discovered Iranian regime spy cells in Kuwait belongs to a group of eight spy cells operating in the country, two of which are armed and their members have been trained on bombings, the Kuwait al-Qabas daily quoted a top official as saying on Friday.

According to al-Arabiya, the official warned that the Iranian regime’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) had employed a number of Lebanese and Syrian citizens in those spy cells, as well as a number of stateless residents in the country.

The Iranian regime’s terrorist contact and intelligence official for the IRGC in Kuwait and the Persian Gulf has been identified as Ali Tehran. He left Kuwait along with three other diplomats in December 2009 after their names were revealed during an investigation.

Kuwait’s foreign minister said his government had withdrawn its ambassador from Tehran. Sheikh Mohammed al-Salem al-Sabah accused the IRGC of being behind a spy cell in Kuwait.

Al-Arabiya said operations to seek out Iranian regime agents in the Persian Gulf are connected to one another because when the regime’s spy network in Kuwait was discovered, the name of an individual was revealed that resided in Bahrain at the time. This individual was responsible for funding of activities and was an IRGC member.

Al-Arabiya added that there may be more regime spy networks discovered across the Gulf region in the coming days. It said relations between Kuwait and the Iranian regime have been in a state of crisis when the Kuwaiti foreign minister strongly condemned the Iranian regime for its meddling.
