Clinton speaks out against the regime’s women’s rights abuses

NCRI – The Iranian regime has imprisoned more than 100 women for their political views, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said in a speech on Friday.

Speaking in New York City on Friday, Mrs. Clinton added, “But despite it all, Iranian women took to the streets once again this week, in greater numbers than anyone expected.”

She also said, “Two years ago, the world was shocked by images of a young woman named Neda murdered in the streets of Tehran because she tried to exercise her universal right to freedom of expression.”

Mrs. Clinton added, many of the female political prisoners arrested “have not only been arrested, but tortured and subjected to lengthy detentions without charge. And their family members have been harassed and sometimes even jailed as well.”
