Iran Election 2021: Briefing on the Turnout in the Iran Regime Sham Presidential Election – No 5

Updates on the turnout in Iran regimes sham election

With Farid Mahoutchi of NCRI Foreign Affairs Committee

Good evening everyone,
Welcome to our election briefing.

This afternoon, as predicted, Ebrahim Raisi the henchman of the 1988 massacre was declared the winner of Iran’s sham presidential election.

But, despite all the rigging and falsifying the vote tally, the turnout was the lowest in the history of the Iranian regime’s presidential elections.
The Iranian people voted for overthrow of the entire regime yesterday with their unprecedented nationwide boycott.

Khamenei’s pyrrhic victory of appointing a mass murderer to the presidency of his illegitimate regime, is a clear signal of the ruling regime’s downward spiral towards its end.
The news of Ebrahim Raisi’s rise to the regime’s presidency, outraged the world.

Amnesty International’s Secretary General, Agnes Callamard, said:
“That Ebrahim Raisi has risen to the presidency instead of being investigated for the crimes against humanity of murder, enforced disappearance and torture, is a grim reminder that impunity reigns supreme in Iran.

“It is now more urgent than ever for member states of the UN Human Rights Council to take concrete steps to address the crisis of systematic impunity in Iran including by establishing an impartial mechanism to collect and analyse evidence of the most serious crimes under international law committed in Iran to facilitate fair and independent criminal proceedings.”

The NCRI President-elect Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, underscored, “There is no longer any justification for the international community to engage or appease a regime whose president is one of the worst criminals against humanity in modern history. The world must stand firmly against the ruling religious fascism, and in solidarity with the Iranian people and their demand for the overthrow of this regime and the establishment of a democratic republic.”
