IRAN: Three prisoners hanged in Karaj

The clerical regime in Iran hanged three prisoners on Wednesday in a prison in the city of Karaj, north-west of the capital Tehran

The three men who were all in their thirties have not been identified. The Iranian regime’s judiciary has said that the men were hanged after they served their prison terms.

The prisoner were hanged in Gohardasht Prison.

A statement by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein on Wednesday said: “Iran has reportedly executed more than 600 individuals so far this year. Last year, at least 753 people were executed in the country.”

In the prison Iran’s fundamentalist regime on Monday hanged a young Iranian mother.

Fatemeh Haddadi, 39, had been imprisoned in the notorious Qarchak Prison for Women in Varamin, south-east of Tehran.

On Sunday (August 9) wardens took Ms. Haddadi from Hall 6 of Qarchak Prison under the guise of transferring her to the medical center. She was transferred to solitary confinement in Gohardasht (Rajaishahr) Prison and was executed there the following day, according to the website of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran, PMOI (Mujahedin-e Khalq, MEK).

Ms. Haddadi who had a daughter had been imprisoned for the past eight years.
There are unconfirmed reports that nine other men were hanged with Ms. Haddadi on Monday in Gohardasht.
