There are not too many issues that attract bipartisan support in Washington, D.C., these days. One exception is a strong cross-party desire to confront Iran’s continuing direct involvement in and sponsorship of extremist violence.
Iran's fundamentalist regime is furious over support from members of the U.S. Congress for Iranian dissidents based at Camp Liberty in Iraq, according to Heshmat Alavi, a political activist and commentator on Iran and the Middle East.

I have long advocated that the United States must uphold its promises to protect the thousands of unarmed Iranian refugees in Iraq as they await final resettlement to third countries through the United Nations. To my regret, warnings of an impending bloodbath perpetrated by Tehran came true last month when 24 Iranian dissidents were killed in a horrific rocket attack against their defenseless encampment. Dozens more were wounded.
NCRI - Members of the main Iranian opposition group, the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran, in Camp Liberty, Iraq, who themselves were victim of a terrorist rocket attack by agents of the Iranian regime at the end of October held a memorial service on Monday, November 16 for the victims of the terrorist attacks last Friday in Paris.

At the end of last month, the Iranian dissident community at Camp Liberty, Iraq, was struck by a barrage of rockets, which killed at least 24 people. The former U.S. military base, near Baghdad's International Airport, has served as a Transit Transfer Location for members of Iranian opposition, the People’s Mojahedin Organisation of Iran (PMOI) since 2011, when they were relocated there from their self-built community of Camp Ashraf. Their resettlement was attanged by the UNHCR under an agreement between the Iraqi government and the UN, endorsed and backed by the United States.
NCRI - Dr. Mohammad Maleki, the first chancellor of the University of Tehran following the 1979 revolution, has condemned last month's brutal rocket attack against members of the Iranian opposition in Camp Liberty in Iraq which left 24 people killed and dozens wounded.
NCRI - Tom Ridge, a former U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security and Governor of Pennsylvania, has urged the Obama administration to bring Camp Liberty, which houses thousands of Iranian dissidents near Baghdad, within the aerial perimeter of U.S. air protection to prevent a repeat of last month's deadly rocket attack on the camp by agents of Iran's regime.
