NCRI - Jim Nicholson, a Member of the European Parliament from the United Kingdom, has welcomed the visit last month by the Iranian Resistance's President-elect Maryam Rajavi to the European Parliament.

Mr. Nicholson, who has supported freedom and democracy in Iran, said in a message that the human rights situation in Iran must not be overlooked.

 

Text of Jim Nicholson MEP's remarks:

"It was a great opportunity last week to welcome Maryam Rajavi back to the European Parliament. It was great to be able to see her there. She certainly brought a very clear message to the Parliament that we must not forget what's presently happening in that particular part of the world and indeed nor must we forget the whole area of human rights."

Members of the European Parliament have spoken out in support of human rights and democracy in Iran through support for the democratic opposition led by Mrs. Maryam Rajavi.
