Addressing a gathering of Revolutionary Guards and the paramilitary
Basij force in the southeastern Iranian city of Zahedan today, mullahs'
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad reaffirmed his demagogic remarks at the
summit of the Organization of Islamic Countries.
“The issue of burning of the Jews in World War II is a myth… They have
invented a myth that Jews were massacred and place this above God,
religions and the prophets,” he claimed. Ahmadinejad told the
Europeans, “This is our proposal: if you committed the crime, then give
a part of your own land in Europe, the United States, Canada or Alaska
to them so that they can establish their own state.”
In another part of his remarks Ahmadinejad emphasized the pursuit of
nuclear programs, saying that the regime had made progress in nuclear
technology and that “the government will not back down on the absolute
right of the Iranian nation in this regard.” Lashing out at the
international community, he said, “We do not want your civil society.
We do not want your hollow civilization and hate it.”
Simultaneous with Ahmadinejad’s remarks, the clerical regime has
increased its sponsorship of terrorism and fundamentalism in Iraq and
is seeking in a concerted effort to influence the Iraqi elections in
its own favor. International media reported today that the
Multi-National Force-Iraq had intercepted several truckloads of
fraudulent ballots printed in Iran on their way to Iraq.
Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, strongly
condemned the latest developments and Ahmadinejad’s remarks today,
which have been endorsed by the Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, and former
President Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani in the past few days. Mrs. Rajavi
said that as the Iranian Resistance emphasized after Ahmadinejad took
office, the fragile and moribund theocracy ruling Iran had declared war
on the international community as a solution to its irremediable
domestic crises and growing international isolation. This policy is
underpinned by the regime’s pursuit of nuclear weapons, domination of
Iraq, and export of terrorism and fundamentalism to the whole region.
Mrs. Rajavi added that the international community’s inaction towards
the regime’s words and deeds, in particular after Ahmadinejad assuming
power, had emboldened the regime into believing that it could pursue
its ambitions to spread terrorism and fundamentalism with impunity.
When Ahmadinejad’s remarks on October 27 drew no serious reaction, he
took a step further on December 8 and today delivered his tirade.
Mrs. Rajavi said that the only correct policy vis-à-vis the regime was
a policy of firmness. A necessary element of such a policy, she said,
was the referral of the regime’s sponsorship of terrorism, spread of
fundamentalism, nuclear file, and human rights violations to the United
Nations Security Council.
The Iranian Resistance's President-elect added that it was also
important to halt diplomatic and trade relations with the mullahs’
regime and put aside all vestiges of appeasement, the main consequence
of which in the past was proscribing the Iranian Mojahedin; a decision
that greatly encouraged the religious dictatorship in Iran.
