ImageNCRI – The right hand and the left foot of a prisoner were cut off in the southern city of Ahwaz, provincial capital of Khuzistan, according to the official news agency of the clerical regime yesterday.

The victim was identified as Adel A. for alleged involvement in armed robbery. The amputation sentence was issued by a court in the town of Mahshahr to be carried out in public.

The city of Ahwaz was the scene of unprecedented anti-government protests earlier this year lasting for over a week. More than 60 people were reportedly killed in clashes between mainly ethnic Arab protesters and security forces in the Ahwaz and neighboring towns in Khuzistan province in April.
