NCRI – “We must side with those seeking freedom and break with those
who have stolen it from Iranian people,” said Lord Corbett of Castle
Vale in his address to 35,000 Iranians who rallied in Brussels on
November 7 in support of the Iranian Resistance. Participants in the
rally called for referral of the Iranian regime’s nuclear file to UN
Security Council for adoption of an oil embargo against the main source
of terrorism in the world.
Lord Corbett started his speech by saluting residents of Camp Ashraf in
Iraq who are standing firm against the fundamentalist threats from Iran
and continued:
“The Foreign Minister of Britain, Mr. Jack Straw and all the foreign
ministers of other countries which make up the European Union although
not exactly in the rally but they are in Brussels and if they open the
window they can hear what we are saying.
“I bring greetings to this rally in the name of 331 members of the
British Parliament, more than half of those members and also in the
name of 122 members of the House of Lords. All of whom demand that the
PMOI is removed from the list of terrorist organizations.
“Those of us in the British Parliament stand alongside of 220 members
of the US Congress and members of parliaments all around the European
Union. To borrow a phrase that Foreign Secretary Jack Straw will
recognize, we are the many; those who want to proscribe the PMOI are
the few.
“I have to say to the foreign ministers that it is not the PMOI which
in words of Prime Minister Blair last week is supporting the terrorism
around the world, not the PMOI but the mullahs. Prime Minister Blair
was talking about the mullahs. Similarly it is not the PMOI, again in
the words of Prime Minister Blair, Iran is in breach of its nuclear
weapons responsibilities and obligations. The Prime Minister’s words
not mine, it is not the PMOI who is the guilty party, it is the
mullahs.
“Similarly it is not the PMOI which is providing weapons and training
for those killing the British troops in Iraq. It is the mullahs and it
is not the PMOI which last week called for Israel to be wiped off the
map. That was the president in Iran.
“So the question I have for the Foreign Secretary of my own country and
all of the others, why is the terror tag not hung around the neck of
the mullahs instead of those seeking freedom and democracy in Iran.
“Twelve years ago the Iranian Resistance warned the world that Islamic
fundamentalism was a new global threat. Now that threat is nearer and
more urgent as the mullahs seek to add nuclear weapons to Islamic
fundamentalism in a lethal mix which imperils the Middle East and
beyond.
“This is where the United Kingdom and the European Union has arrived
after 3 years of appeasement of the mullahs, dancing to the mullahs’
music. It is this appeasement which led to the PMOI being put on the
proscribed list at the British stand. This appeasement must now stop.
Iran’s breach of nuclear responsibilities and obligations must now be
reported to the UN Security Council.
“The Iranian Resistance must be recognized as the strongest force
standing in the way of the mullahs’ march towards nuclear weapons and
threats to stability with the removal of the proscription.
“The one thing above all else which the mullahs fear is a simple but
strong idea, irresistible idea, it is called democracy and it is this
that Iranian Resistance promises the people of Iran.
“We must side with those seeking freedom and break with those who have
stolen it from Iranian people. The world has lately seen the Georgian’s
rose revolution it was followed by Ukraine’s orange revolution, now
must come Iran’s saffron revolution.” |
