NCRI – Despite media reports, Tehran's bazaar did not opened for the sixth day in a row, reported the state-run news agency ILNA on Monday.

The two major sectors of the capital's bazaar, jewelers and fabrics shuttered their businesses to the costumers.  

Tehran, Tabriz, Shiraz, Mashhad, Qazvin and Kerman bazaars even though the mullahs' regime has agreed to delay imposition of the tax on many retail and wholesale transactions for two months.

What the merchants demand is a total abrogation of the added-value tax law. They are concerned that two months from now they would have bigger concerns regarding the state of the economy in the country.

Fabric market which is located in Sardar Bazaar remained closed throughout the day on Monday. The State Security Forces (SSF) – mullahs' suppressive police – agents were closely monitoring every move in the bazaar.

The shopkeepers in groups of four or five were standing outside their closed businesses chatting.

A group of 50 merchants surrounded the head of Fabric Wholesalers Association explaining why they should continue with their strike.
 
"Forget the taxes. We have been insulted. The government is calling us smugglers and we demand an apology before anything else," said a fabric merchant in the crowd.

ILNA wrote that not even posting the statement announcing a two months delay in the execution of tax law solved anything.
