Iran: Three arrested for eating in public PDF Print E-mail
Sunday, 14 September 2008

iran_crackdown_youths_150NCRI – The State Security Forces – mullahs' suppressive police – arrested on Friday, three young men for eating in pubic in the month of Ramadan in the northern city of Astara.

In the process of their arrest, they were beaten up by the SSF agents before being forced into a police van and transferred to an unknown location.

Two weeks into the Ramadan in Iran, harsh treatment of those breaking the fast has added to people's problems with the mullahs' regime.

In a figure given by the deputy chief of the SSF on September 9, nearly 26,000 citizens have already received warning citations for breaking their fast in the streets.

In a directive issued a few days before Ramadan, the SSF ruled that no one is allowed to consume food or beverages in public.
