NCRI – More than 1,500 workers of Haft-Tapeh Sugar Cane factory workers walked out on Tuesday over a year-long pay dispute with the factory's hand-picked management in the southwestern city of Shoosh.  

The protesters flocked outside management office demanding their unpaid salaries and other benefits. The participants also called for the resignation of the Chief Executive Officer of the company.  

In the scorching 50 degrees centigrade summer heat, workers vowed to stay on strike if their demands are not met in the next few days.

Haft-Tapeh factory has experienced one of the longest strikes since last year. It also has one of the largest work forces in the southwestern Iran with more than 5,000 workers in various parts.

Thousands of workers in the past months have gone on strike over pay cuts across the country. However, the mullahs' regime has not met their demands. Just to name a few, there are Sugar Cane Factory workers in the southern city of Shoosh, Kiyan Tire and Iran Khodro workers in suburbs of Tehran, Sadra Shipyard workers in the southern city of Bushehr are currently on strike for their wages.
