Iran: Textile factory workers demonstrate in Sanandaj PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 11 August 2008

lion-sun-150NCRI - More than 200 protesting workers of Zarbaft Textile Factory of Kurdistan, early Monday morning, gathered outside social security office in the western city of Sanandaj.

The workers demanded their unpaid salaries and benefits. The State Security Forces (SSF) – mullahs' suppressive police – drove the protesters into a deserted corner of the building to isolate the event.

In the past weeks, workers have been on strikes in Haft-Tapeh Sugar Cane factory, Kiyan-Tire and Iran Khodro.

The Iranian Resistance calls on labor organizations and unions and the International Labor Organization (ILO) in particular to condemn the anti-labor policies of the clerical regime and suppression of the workers in Iran.
