Students in Qasvin University protest the detention of students PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 10 October 2007
NCRI - On Monday, the students in Qasvin University staged a gathering at university campus to protest the continuation of detention of Polytechnic University students.

They chanted slogans such as: "Political prisoners must be freed", "University is not a military base" and "Political security is our inalienable right".

In the resolution issued at this protest, students stated: "Yesterday you accused us of escaping from truth and light and called us mercenaries and today you install closed-circuit cameras at the entrance of the University. You view this place as a garrison with bunch of soldiers where you are the commanders of these soldiers...It would only make sense that instead of spending so much for suppressive forces, you would open your eyes to see the reality, before the reality opens your eyes by force. It is time to realize that the past is over with and you can't change things by installing closed-circuit cameras and continuing this kind of activities."
