Dr. Zahedi: Iranian Mullahs are behind the criminal acts in Iraq PDF Print E-mail
Sunday, 22 July 2007
NCRI - In an interview with Arabic language daily Al-Quds Al-Arabi, Dr. Sanabargh Zahedi, the chair of Judicial Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) said: The Mullah's regime is behind assassinations, kidnappings, explosions and all other criminal acts in Iraq. Zahedi reiterated that the Iranian regime supports both Shiite and Sunni groups in Iraq and in other countries financially and militarily to advance its projects and plans.

Al-Quds Al-Arabi writes that Dr. Zahedi believes the talks between the Iranian regime and International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will not produce any results. The reason is that the Iranian regime is following a specific plan to acquire nuclear weapons and cannot concede because having nuclear bomb guarantees its survival. Zahedi stressed that even when Khatami was President, the only reason they attended these talks was to buy time in order to get closer to their goal.

Al-Quds Al-Arabi added: Dr. Zahedi believes that the Iranian Resistance movement has historical and national roots and has been able to raise the flag of democratic Islam against the dictatorship of the Shah and terrorist theocratic regime in Iran. That is why this movement has the support of Iranian.

The interview was published on July 16, 2007.
