Resumption of nuclear activities in Isfahan and Natanz
necessitates referral of mullahs' nuke file to UN Security Council
The clerical regime announced, "according to the decision by senior
officials" and "by sending a letter to the International Atomic Energy
Agency, nuclear activities on the production of UCF in Isfahan will
begin this week, before Mohammad Khatami's tenure ends," the
state-controlled news agency, Fars, reported yesterday. It quoted
"informed sources" as saying, "probably part of the nuclear activities
in Natanz will resume shortly."
Fars added that the Supreme Leader's representative in the Supreme
National Security Council, Ali Larijani, had asked Khatami to resume
nuclear activities before the end of his presidency.
The mullahs' brazen decision, despite all the concessions it has
received from the European Union in the past two years, makes its
crystal clear that no amount of political, economic and security
incentive would dissuade the clerical regime from continuing its
nuclear weapons program. Much less, the mullahs are complaining that
the EU's new offer "does not take into consideration the Islamic
Republic's minimum demands."
Needless to say, during the 21-month talks with the EU, the clerical
regime has been working feverishly to complete the necessary steps to
produce the nuclear bomb. Tehran's nuclear point man, Hassan Rowhani
boasted last week, "On the surface, it may appear that we have accepted
the suspension. In truth, we alleviated a lot of our deficiencies
during this period… We did not suspend Isfahan for even one second.
Arak was never suspended."
The Iranian Resistance underscores that nothing has helped the ruling
theocracy to inch closer to obtaining the nuclear bomb than EU's
appeasement policy. Thus there is no longer any justification for
continuing these failed negotiations and the mullahs' nuclear file must
be immediately referred to the United Nations Security Council for the
adoption of binding decisions.
