Iranian Resistance urges need for firm policy toward ruling theocracyThe White House: Ahmadinejad among leaders of group occupying US embassy

The spokesman for the White House said that subsequent to investigations into the mullahs' new President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the United States had concluded that "he was a leader of the student movement that organized the attack on the embassy and the taking of American hostages."

Mr. Mohammad Mohaddessin, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, said these conclusions leave no justification to continue appeasing the clerical regime.

Ahmadinejad was not only among the organizers of the U.S. embassy takeover, but as the Iranian Resistance had declared earlier, played an active role in the interrogation of the U.S. diplomats taken hostage. He is a murderer, a terrorist and a hostage taker.

Mr. Mohaddessin added: "Appointing a Revolutionary Guardsman as President reflected the decision by Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei to consolidate his position in a bid to confront incurable domestic crises, increasing international pressure, stepped-up meddling in Iraq and efforts to procure nuclear weapons." "The three parameters indispensable to the regime's survival, namely internal suppression, dominating Iraq and acquiring the nuclear bomb, are intertwined with the ascension of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps," he said.

Mohaddessin stressed, "Time has come for the United States to stand with millions of Iranians in their struggle for freedom by taking practical and concrete steps to recognize the Iranian people's right to resist against religious tyranny. The first step to this end is to remove the terror label from the pivotal force in the resistance movement, the People's Mojahedin of Iran, blacklisted eight years ago in the framework of the policy of appeasing the mullahs' religious, terrorist dictatorship."
