Iran – election – statement no. 2 - The clerical regime
announced that the number of eligible voters had risen by 150,000 from
June 17 to June 24.
If we take this figure to be correct, we could easily discern that the
regime has been lying about the actual number of eligible voters all
along.
During the parliamentary elections in 2004, officials put the number of
eligible voters at 46.35 million. With 150,000 voters added each week,
this would mean that nine million more voters are eligible since
February 2004, bringing the number of eligible voters to 55.35 million.
This contrasts sharply with the Interior Ministry’s announced figure of
46.79 million eligible voters for the Presidential election.
