NCRI - In an interview published on March 4 in the German daily Die Welt, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance said: "Although referring Iran's nuclear file to the UN Security Council is an essential step, but other steps must immediately be put into effect. Such steps could include an oil embargo, restrictions on weapons, technology and diplomatic ties." |

Reuters - As Iran pursues a nuclear programme the West fears is aimed at producing bombs, Tehran also appears to be stepping up development of missiles capable of carrying atomic warheads, diplomats citing intelligence say. According to an intelligence report given to Reuters by a non-U.S. diplomat, a covert Iranian programme run by people closely linked to Iran's military includes plans to arm its Shahab-3 missiles, which experts believe have a maximum range of around 2,000 km (1,240 miles), with nuclear warheads. |

Agence France Presse - The People's Mujahedin of Iran (PMOI), a branch of the country's exiled opposition, called Monday for the UN Security Council to intervene urgently in the controversy over Iranian nuclear plans.
"We ask the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to take a firm position on the Iran nuclear file and refer immediately to the UN Security council," said Firouz Mahvi, spokesman of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), political wing of the PMOI. |

Iran's Revolutionary Guards have taken the extraordinary step of cutting down thousands of trees in Teheran to prevent United Nations inspectors from finding traces of enriched uranium from a top-secret nuclear plant. News of last month's cleansing operation comes as the International Atomic Energy Agency's 35-member board meets in Vienna today to decide whether Iran should be reported to the United Nations Security Council for failing to comply with its obligations under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. |

NCRI - Five Arab human rights organizations expressed their deep concern over the current wave of executions in Iran which includes those detained during the unrest in Ahwaz, provincial capital of Khuzistan, southern Iran.
Arab Commission for Human Rights, International Committee for Abolition of Death Penalty, Alkarameh Association in Defense of Human Rights, World Justice Organization, and Association Against Violence in Exile, highlighted in their statement that detainees were captured before the recent bombing in Ahwaz which was condemned by the above organizations at the time. Those executed were accused of being separatist elements possessing weapons. |

NCRI - Clerical regime's news agency IRNA reported today that a man was hanged in public this morning for alleged murder back in 2005 in a village in Isfahan province, central Iran. The man identified as Ali Salahshour, was 33 years of age.
Other state media reported today that a man identified as Hossein S., 24, was hanged on Saturday in Qazvin, north western Iran, for alleged assault on women. The number of executions in Iran has been on the rise in recent weeks raising concern among international human rights organizations. They have particularly expressed concern over the plight of political prisoners following the secret hanging of Hojjat Zamani, a member of the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran, in February. |

NCRI - Majority of European tourist packages to Iran particularly from Germany and France have been cancelled in the current month, according to the secretary of the committee for incoming tours, Ebrahim Pourfaraj. He added that the state of tourism is now back to the days just after the 9/11. |
