Young man hanged in public in Iran NCRI - A young man was hanged in public in the western city of Qazvin on Wednesday, the state-run daily Iran reported.

The man identified by his first name, Habib, was 28. The execution took place in a town square on Tuesday morning in the presence of the judge who had issued the execution sentence. Habib was accused of armed robbery but no detail of his trial procedure was available.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards say U.S. “bluffing”NCRI - A senior Revolutionary Guards commander dismissed on Tuesday threats by the United States over Iran's nuclear program as "political bluff", the state-owned news agency Fars reported.

Brigadier General Ali-Reza Afshar, a veteran Revolutionary Guards commander and director of propaganda and cultural affairs in the high command of the Armed Forces, made the remarks on the final day of a conference in Tehran entitled "the West's Psychological War Against Iran."

Iran: International women's day marked by protest gatheringsNCRI - The International Women's Day was marked by protest gatherings in two major parks in central Tehran today.

Women chanted "freedom, freedom" in Daneshjou and Laleh park gatherings despite harsh measures imposed by the regime's security forces. To prevent women to assemble, the suppressive forces surrounded the area forcing people to disperse.

A man hanged in public in southern Iran NCRI - A man identified as Iraj D. was hanged in public yesterday in the city of Shooshtar in the oil rich province of Khuzistan, southern Iran.

The man was charged with murder but no detail of his trial was released.

Khuzistan province was the scene of violent unrests last summer which was brutally suppressed by the clerical regime's security forces leaving over 60 dead and hundreds more wounded or arrested.
