Iran: Man hanged in public PDF Print E-mail

File Photo - Public hanging in IranNCRI - Iranian regime has publicly hanged a man in the western city of Ahvaz,  the state-run news agency ISNA reported on Friday.

The prisoner was only identified as S.M. He was executed on Wednesday, the report said quoting the local judiciary without giving further details.

 File phorp- Public hanging in IranNCRI - Iranian regime's henchmen  hanged two prisoners  in the city of Qum, state-run media reported on Thursday.

The state-run  newspaper Arman said the men, identified only as Hamid Kh. and Zeinolabedeen Gh., were executed on Wednesday. They were accused of drug trafficking.

Mullahs' henchman get ready to execexecute in publicNCRI - Iranian regime's henchmen  hanged two prisoners  in the western city of Khorramabad, the official IRNA news agency reported on Monday.

The report identified them only as Gh. B. and H. R and added the two were hanged early this week but no other details were given.

Iran: Former University of Tehran President charged with moharebeh PDF Print E-mail

 NCRI - The first post-1979 revolution President of the University of Tehran, Dr. Mohammad Maleki, has been charged by the regime with moharebeh (waging war against God), the state-run ILNA reported on Saturday. Thus far, he has spent years in prison for his opposition to the clerical regime’s policies.

The state-run ILNA quoted Dr. Maleki’s lawyer as saying that his client “has been charged with moharebeh on the score of having contacts with an illegal organization and in accordance with Article 186 of the Islamic Punishment Act.”

March 5, 2010 - The United States notes with great concern reports the Iranian courts have upheld a death sentence for 20-year-old university student Mohammad Amin Valian. Valian was arrested for throwing stones during the December 27 Ashura demonstrations, a crime to which he confessed. For this minor act, he was found guilty of ‘warring against God.’ It appears this would be the first person facing execution after the election, although we do note due process concerns about other executions. We find this disproportionate punishment deplorable and urge his immediate release.

The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay

NCRI - The U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay told the U.N.'s Human Rights Council she remains "deeply concerned by the deteriorating human rights situation in Iran."

Pillay, a former U.N. war crimes judge, said she had talked with Iranian regime's officials about the deteriorating human rights situation in Iran and suggested her office should visit the country.

Germany criticizes Iranian regime on human rights PDF Print E-mail

 NCRI - The German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle on Wednesday sharply criticized Iranian regime and said he was opposed to its bid for a seat on the United Nations' Human Rights Council.

Westerwelle made the remarks in Geneva, where he addressed the 47- state council. Voting for the rotating seats on the council is scheduled for May.

Evin prison entranceNCRI - A Tehran Bazaar merchant has been arrested during a raid by the regime’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS) agents and taken to Ward 209 of the notorious Evin prison.

Mr. Niakan, 48, is a former political prisoner during the 1980s. He was imprisoned from 1982 to 1990 and placed under medieval tortures during this time.

 A regime official admits to 38 execution and 4 amputation in Ahvaz

NCRI - On February 20, the clerical regime hanged a Sunni prisoner, Haj Dadollah Moradzehi, after eight months of imprisonment in the city of Zahedan. The execution took place even as many Sunni clerics and trustees in the province of Sistan and Baluchistan had called against it, describing the victim as someone who had helped build many of the Sunni mosques in the region.

The victim’s nephew, Khodayar Rahmat-Zehi-Shahnavazi, 35, had also been executed on January 23, 2010, after spending 4 years in prison. He was arrested after a bomb exploded in front of his residence.
