Reuters- Maryam Rajavi, head of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, waves as she arrives in front of the Italian parliament in Rome, October 23, 2008. A European Union court on Thursday annulled a 2007 move to freeze the assets of an exiled Iranian opposition group in the latest legal setback for an EU blacklist of suspected terrorist groups.
But the People's Mujahideen Organisation of Iran (PMOI) -- which exposed Iran's covert nuclear programme in 2002 -- was due to stay on the blacklist for now because the ruling did not affect a separate EU decision this year reaffirming the policy.. |

Europe's second highest court ruled Thursday that the European Union has wrongly blacklisted an Iranian opposition group, adding fuel to accusations the bloc has abused its terrorist list to appease Iran. The ruling by the European Court of First Instance in Luxembourg was the second the court has issued since 2006 ordering the EU to unfreeze the People's Mujahedin Organization of Iran's assets and remove it from the EU list of terrorist groups. The U.S. also designates the PMOI as a terrorist organization. |

NCRI –Court of First Instance of the European Communities for the second time in less than two years annulled terror label against the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK).
First it was on December 12, 2006 in which it called on the EU countries to remove the main Iranian opposition from their terror lists and release its assets. What has been underscored by Thursday's ruling and as Mrs. Maryam Rajavi has put in her statement, the Iranian Resistance only seeks to have free movement to stand up to the mullahs' regime to its fullest capacity which has been hamper substantially because of the unjust terror tag. |

BRUSSELS, October 23, 2008 (AFP) - A European court on Thursday annulled an EU decision to freeze the assets of the main Iranian opposition in exile, dealing a fresh blow to the bloc's attempts to keep the group on its terror blacklist.
The Court of First Instance ruled that the EU had failed to give sufficient reasons to keep the People's Mujahedeen of Iran (PMOI) on the list, following a British court decision to remove them from the national list. |

By Reza Shafa A former deputy at the Research Division of the mullahs’ Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS), made a shocking confession that during the 1988 political prisoner executions by the mullahs’ regime, 33,700 people were executed and buried in mass graves.
Reza Malek, who worked at the MOIS when Ali Fallahian was its minister, made the revelation by appearing in a video tape. He was a colleague of the notorious Saeed Emami. After Emami’s arrest when the so-called chain murders were revealed and factional feuds within the regime ensued, Malek was also arrested and held in Ward 209 of Tehran's Evin prison run by the MOIS. After spending seven years in solitary confinement at MOIS, Reza Malek submitted a shocking video confession to the UN Secretary General about the crimes committed by the murderous MOIS. |
