Reuters, October 11 - Iran must obey international rules over its nuclear program and should not doubt the will of the international community to ensure it does so, British Prime Minister Tony Blair said on Tuesday.

Blair, due to hold talks on Iran soon with U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, said Britain and the United States would continue to put pressure on Iran over its nuclear activities, which Washington says -- and Iran denies -- are a cover for making atomic bombs.

Press Association, October 10 - The Iranian Revolutionary Guards have established a headquarters in an attempt to command and control terrorist activities in southern Iraq - including operations against British forces, it has been claimed.

The allegation was made by Hossein Abedini, member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran at a London press conference.

NCRI, October 10 - On World Day Against the Death Penalty, the National Council of Resistance of Iran calls on international human rights bodies to condemn the continuing wave of executions in Iran, particularly of minors, which is a blatant breach of conventions on the rights of children.

NCRI, October 10 - Interior Minister Mostafa Pour-Mohammadi appointed Brig. Gen. Amir Hayat-Moghaddam, among Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) commanders, as the governor of the oil-rich southwestern Khuzistan province.

The appointment is part of the regime's overall plan to hand over key posts to IRGC commanders and Intelligence Ministry henchmen.

When it was announced early last week that a senior British diplomat in Baghdad was flying back to London to give a briefing on Iraq's constitutional referendum, the general expectation in Whitehall was that the following day's headlines would focus exclusively on whether sufficient numbers of Iraqis would turn out to validate the exercise.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who has launched a purge of moderates in national and provincial government since his election two months ago, has drafted in fellow radical revolutionaries to top administrative posts - a move that will heighten Western fears over Iran's nuclear ambitions.
